Chill in the Air?

The temperature hit a high of 107'F (42'C) in NYC today.  Everything, and everyone, has a severely wilted look.  To help those in need of a little cooling off, I've posted some images of gardens in winter.  Take your mind back to those frosty, snow-covered months of December, January, February and March (and sometimes April, too!).  Ahhh.......Dipping your hand in a tub of ice as you recollect is also very helpful to this visual imagery exercise!

A bit early to hoist this on you, but.....

...I have made a big decision on the Spring bulb front.  Specifically, tulips.  I typically flood my garden with pale pink and white tulips, along with a very pale yellow.  It's a beautiful sight against the still present grey of early Spring.  This year, I'm going to go to the other end of the spectrum.  I've decided to plant masses of "Queen of the Night".  I think alone in masses, or interspersed with pale pink, this striking shade will be fanstastic.  Pen in hand, order sheet ready....
